    Mesoscale Discussion 1204
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
    0548 PM CDT Thu Jul 08 2021

    Areas affected...Eastern North Carolina...Far Eastern
    Virginia...Delmarva

    Concerning...Tornado Watch 350...

    Valid 082248Z - 090045Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 350 continues.

SUMMARY...Brief tornadoes will remain possible into this evening.
The threat will tend to decrease with time as the thermodynamic
environment becomes increasingly unfavorable as well as stronger
    low-level shear shifting offshore.

DISCUSSION...In the short term, the greatest tornado threat exists
from the North Carolina Coastal Plain into southeastern Virginia.
Regional radar shows a band of convection moving
north-northeastward. Brief low-level mesocyclone features have been
observed within the last hour within this band. Low-level wind
fields will remain favorable for similar activity into the evening.
The main limiting factor will be increasingly unfavorable
thermodynamic environment, particularly with northward extent.
Furthermore, as Elsa continues to move northeast, the more favorable
low-level shear environment will tend to shift offshore. Brief
tornadoes will remain possible through 10-11 PM EDT, possibly as far
north as portions of the Delmarva.
